There are many associations and organisations offering language courses. But it has to be said that even if there is a wide range of learning opportunities, they are more limited when it comes to putting what you learn into practice.
Similarly, there is a great curiosity on the part of language course participants to go beyond learning the language and discover the surrounding culture and heritage. They are eager to learn more about the country’s customs and traditions, and its natural, historical, geographical and environmental attractions.
However, it’s not easy for language course instructors to become ‘tourist and cultural guides’. Their knowledge is often limited and they can’t pass on much information to course participants.
With this in mind, we are proposing to create a digital teaching aid, accessible on computers, tablets and smartphones, which combines language learning and cultural immersion: the two pillars of successful integration. Through this learning tool, called ‘LinGoLux’, participants will be able to practise their local languages and discover the cultural attractions and heritage of their host country.
