To raise awareness of the concept of Respect, the MEC asbl has created the Move Together #Respect photographic exhibition, comprising 18 panels and 6 banners.
The aim was to remind people of the importance of respect in everyday life, regardless of their beliefs, political convictions or social allegiances.
Eighteen sub-themes were therefore identified, and partners were invited to use their creativity to express their notion of respect through a photograph:
L’Asile National pour Animaux (animals), Inter-Action (homeless), Fédération Nationale des Eclaireurs et Eclaireuses du Luxembourg (friendship), ASTI (ethnic groups), BGL BNP Paribas (work), Unicef (children), Centre pour l’Egalité de Traitement (human rights), Rosa Lëtzebuerg (homosexuality), InfoMann (gender equality), Médecins du Monde (health), RBS-Center fir Altersfroen (senior citizens), SuperDrecksKëscht (nature), Association Nationale des Victimes de la Route -A. V.R (traffic), Planning Familial (sex), Info Handicap (disability), l’essentiel (communication), l’action Groupe Inter-Religions (religion), Families First Luxembourg -Croix Rouge luxembourgeoise (family).
All the photos were designed by Riyadh Almajmas, a photographer of Iraqi origin who arrived in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in 2016.
The exhibition has received financial support from the Oeuvre Nationale de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte, BGL BNP Paribas, the Ministère de l’Egalité des Chances, the newspaper l’essentiel and the garage Kruft.
Inaugurated at the headquarters of BGL BNP Paribas in May 2018, it then travelled around Luxembourg:
- Trifolion – Echternach from 29 May to 19 June 2018
- Théâtre d’Esch – Esch-sur-Alzette from 7 to 15 July 2018
- Cactus Belle-Etoile – Strassen from 30 October to 10 November 2018
- Aquasud – Differdange from 26 November to 21 December 2018
- From autumn 2019: SHUK – Kirchberg
