Film ‘I am‘

From the Middle East to Luxembourg: Testimonies from refugees

A film that tells their story

‘I AM’ is now free to access on VIMEO!

Synopsis

‘I AM’ is a short film produced by MEC asbl in collaboration with MR Film.

The aim of this film is to dismantle stereotypes, in particular the most powerful one, namely that refugees have come to Luxembourg mainly for economic reasons. They have left behind a country, a culture, a family, friends, a home, professions and, for some, success and fame, for a single and probably most important reason: to save their lives.

Ban, Hadeel, Nizar, Ghassan, Haider, Hassan, Hassanin, Riyadh and Kasem have agreed to share their stories with us, the horrific experience of taking the road of death in order to survive. This is their account of their journey from their country of origin to Luxembourg, their new home.

The film is available for hire free of charge to associations and other organisations.
