ECHTERNACH – The LinGoLux platform lets you play games to discover the languages of the country and the municipalities of the Mullerthal. In the meantime, it is being extended to other regions of the Grand Duchy. <\/h3>\n\n

LinGoLux, whose name evokes languages, the route to follow and Luxembourg, was developed by EcomLux on the initiative of the MEC asbl.Vincent Lescaut\/L’essentiel<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n

What is Beaufort’s historical industry? How do you write \u2018poids\u2019, \u2018pois\u2019 or \u2018pouas\u2019 chiches? What was the name of the train that ran between Echternach and Luxembourg City? All these questions are part of the LinGoLux<\/a> platform, which allows you to discover the Mullerthal region and make progress in the country’s usual languages. \u2018We realised that there was a need,\u2019 says Aur\u00e9lia Pattou, of the Mouvement pour l’\u00e9galit\u00e9 des chances (MEC) ASBL<\/a>, which initiated the project. \u2018The MEC had been offering language courses for a long time, and people were saying that they lacked the means to practise. They also said they needed to know more about the region where they live.Vincent Lescaut\/L’essentiel <\/p>\n\n

This gave rise to the idea of creating a platform in three languages, Luxembourgish, French and German. With the support of the Ministry for the Family and the Natur- & Geopark M\u00ebllerdall, the MEC launched the project, which took 18 months to see the light of day. We had one idea in mind: to create something fun and visually dynamic,\u2019 explains Guillaume P\u00e2quet, from EcomLux, who developed the design and visuals for LinGoLux. His partner at EcomLux, Jeremy Bosquet, developed \u2018everything that can’t be seen\u2019, including programming and functionality. <\/p>\n\n

Une fois sur la plateforme, on choisit de jouer sans s’inscrire, ou en cr\u00e9ant un compte pour avoir un suivi de ses r\u00e9sultats. Ensuite, on clique sur la r\u00e9gion Mullerthal puis on choisit une des communes de la r\u00e9gion, de Junglinster \u00e0 Reisdorf et de Nommern \u00e0 Rosport-Mompach. Pour chaque commune, un quiz de sept questions m\u00ealant connaissance de la ville et questions linguistiques. \u00abEn tout, on a 882 questions et 2 646 r\u00e9ponses, trois par question\u00bb, reprend Aur\u00e9lia Pattou. Pour les questions sur les communes, quatre th\u00e8mes: histoire, g\u00e9ographie, nature et culture. \u00abOn a demand\u00e9 au parc de nous trouver des infos sur les communes et on a r\u00e9dig\u00e9 les questions\u00bb. Pour les questions linguistiques, le MEC a travaill\u00e9 avec des linguistes. <\/p>\n\n
